Monica had always believed she lived in the quietest corner of Elmwood City—until the night she discovered the Midnight Delivery Club.

It all started when Monica followed her black cat, Jiji, out onto the porch. Jiji was never the adventurous type, so when he hopped off the steps and darted toward the old community library, Monica grabbed her blue dress and ran after him.

Behind the library, she spotted a group of kids her age standing around a glowing mailbox. They weren’t mailing letters—they were delivering wishes. A tall boy explained that once a week, the mailbox connected to people who needed a little hope: a kid afraid of their first day at a new school, a grandma recovering in the hospital, a teacher overwhelmed by grading.

Every member carried something special to help deliver those wishes. Monica looked down at Jiji—who proudly puffed his chest—and then at her handmade messenger bag.

It felt right.

When the glowing mailbox opened for her, Monica slid her hand inside and pulled out her first mission: Deliver courage to a girl facing her first big piano recital.

With Jiji leaping onto her shoulder, Monica took off running through the moonlit streets. Somehow the world looked different—lighter, fuller of possibilities.

By sunrise, the wish had been delivered, and Monica officially became a Midnight Courier.

Now, whenever someone in Elmwood City quietly hopes for something—big or small—Monica and Jiji are already on their way.

Because in the Midnight Delivery Club,
Monica isn’t just a girl with a black cat—she’s a bringer of hope.
