In the northern American village of Everpine, Christmas was always celebrated with a festival called “Snowlight Night.” But this year, a fierce storm arrived so suddenly that even the lights on the giant Christmas tree went out. The villagers felt discouraged for the first time.
Just as they were about to give up, a cheerful little voice came from the snow. It was Maribel Twinkleton, a tiny magical girl dressed in a red-and-white fluffy gown, her golden curls glowing like starlight. She held a miniature Santa doll, looking as if she carried Christmas magic itself.
“Don’t worry,” Maribel said with a warm smile. “I’m here to protect your Christmas wishes.”
She stepped onto the snow, her skirt scattering soft light. With a gentle touch on the dark Christmas tree, hundreds of warm little lights flickered to life, shining like stars resting on its branches.
The brighter the lights grew, the calmer the sky became. The storm faded, and soon the familiar sound of sleigh bells drifted through the night—Santa had found his way at last.
Children cheered, “Thank you, Maribel Twinkleton!”
From then on, people in Everpine would always say:
“If Christmas Eve shines warmer than ever, Maribel Twinkleton must have visited.”
