In the northern American town of Everpine, Christmas came with a special tradition: kids wrote their wishes on paper, placed them inside the Christmas Wish Lantern, and waited for the lighthouse to send their wishes into the sky.
Little Holly Bennett, dressed in her green-and-red holiday dress and carrying her handmade gingerbread bear, held a secret no one knew—she could hear the whispers inside the lanterns.
This winter, a rare blizzard hit Everpine. The lighthouse collapsed under heavy snow, and the Wish Lantern couldn’t be lit. The kids panicked, afraid Santa wouldn’t hear their wishes.
Holding her gingerbread bear, Holly said softly, “If the lighthouse can’t shine, then we’ll shine our own wishes.”
She ran into the snowy forest and found the legendary North Star Moss—a glowing moss that only appeared to pure-hearted children. Holly placed the moss inside the Wish Lantern, and suddenly a warm golden beam shot into the sky.
Kids cheered as the light spread across rooftops, snowbanks, and pine trees… and even Santa from far away could see it.
